1966 AL Game of Note: No-hitter

The Trading Card Database - 1966 Dexter Press California Angels ...June 21, 1966

California pitcher Marcelino Lopez threw a no-hitter today against the Minnesota Twins. The Angels needed the gem by Lopez as they won the game by a score of 2-0. The no hitter was the 1st in the AL this season and came against one of the top hitting teams in the league. Only a walk in the 7th inning marred what could have been a perfect game.  Lopez, his team, and the hometown fans celebrated wildly anyway after the final out was recorded.

electrified. California finished with just 5 hits in the victory.
