The 1966 NL season enters the month of June and many players are putting up excellent numbers. Atlanta, Pittsburg, and San Francisco have the most players in the top 5 of the major categories. Pittsburgh's Bob Veale (pictured) already has 10 wins on the season and is among the leaders in ERA and K's too. The Pirates hitting duo of Roberto Clemente and Willie Stargell are among league leaders in several batting categories. Hank Aaron and Joe Torre of the Atlanta Braves are leaders in NL slugging while teammate Felipe Alou leads the league in BA with a .424 mark. St. Louis Cardinal pitcher Bob Gibson got off to a bit of a slow start but now has won his last 5 in a row while allowing only 6 runs in those games. San Francisco's Willie McCovey is tied at the top of the league in HR with 17 and is 4th with 41 RBI.
