1966 AL Game: KC at Min

April 13, 1966

The Minnesota Twins' Sandy Valdespino hit for the cycle in todays game but the Kansas City Athletics still came out on top 9-5. Valdespino hit a hr in the 1st inning, doubled in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th and singled in the 7th.

Catcher Billy Bryan lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 3 RBI as the
Kansas City Athletics outscored the Minnesota Twins 9 to 5. The Twins Sandy
Valdespino hit for the cycle in the losing effort. 
In the top of the 6th inning Kansas City scored 3 runs.  The big moment was
provided by Bryan who quieted the home crowd when he lofted a three-run
'big-fly'.  The game was a wild affair with the lead changing hands 5 times.
 
The winning pitcher was Rollie Sheldon(1-0) who allowed 4 runs in 7 innings.
Camilo Pascual(0-1) was the losing pitcher.  He was unable to control the
Kansas City offense and allowed 10 hits and 4 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.
